Real Estate Marketing Glossary
Definition: Online Real Estate Marketing
Online real estate marketing is exactly what it sounds like. It is the act of real estate marketing over the Internet. Okay, so that's a simplistic definition. But it's a good starting point!
The real estate industry has shifted its marketing focus in recent years, given a lot more importance (and more of its budget) to online marketing channels. Smart real estate agents know that their ideal audience of home buyers and sellers use the Internet extensively to conduct research. So it is the goal of an online real estate marketing program to tap into this Internet activity in order to generate leads and attract new clients.
Parts of an online marketing program:
In my book about the Real Estate Web Presence, I teach readers to change the way the think about real estate marketing online. I show them how to use multiple online marketing channels in concert with each other to increase their overall success.
Some of those online marketing channels are:
- Search engine optimization (SEO)
- Real estate blogging
- Publishing articles online
- Publishing press releases online
- Creating web-based networks
- And, of course, having a great website
So with all this in mind, we might expand on our basic definition of online real estate marketing as such: The act of using multiple, web-based marketing channels in order to increase one's presence online — and, ultimately, to increase one's overall real estate success.
