Coral Springs, Florida – The City of Coral Springs is committed to serving, protecting and assisting residents throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The city received $502,500 in coronavirus relief funds through the state of Florida. These funds will be used for rental and mortgage assistance for those who have experienced loss of income, reduced hours or unemployment as a direct result of COVID-19. Assistance will only be provided for mortgages and rent due from April 1, 2020 until December 2020, if granted. Assistance will be paid directly to the mortgage company or homeowner.
Regarding the funds, City Manager Frank Babinec said, “The unforeseen challenges this pandemic has caused, including the financial burden on residents, is something City staff have been working on solutions to address. Allocating over $500,000 in coronavirus relief funds for this program is one of the ways we are trying to alleviate the financial hardship families in our city have endured.
Income-eligible residents with proof of significant impact caused by the pandemic can apply by registering in line from August 24and. Funds are limited and will be granted to residents on a first-come, first-served basis.
