Mesa residents financially impacted by COVID-19 and needing help with mortgage payments to avoid foreclosure can still apply for assistance. Mesa is accepting applications for Mortgage Assistance – Foreclosure Prevention Program. Application forms are available online in English and Spanish.

To be eligible, an applicant must be a resident of the City of Mesa for at least three months, be at or below 80% of median household income, and have a pending foreclosure due to financial hardship caused by the COVID pandemic. -19. The necessary documentation includes:

Information on income and assets of all household members
Applicant’s photo ID, social security card and birth certificate
Notice of Late Payment
Two years of taxes
Documentation showing that the applicant has been affected by the pandemic.

Mesa provides one-time support for up to 180 consecutive days. Applicants who receive mortgage assistance from another source are not eligible for the program.

Funding for Mortgage Assistance comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant.
