The Sudbury Housing Trust is pleased to announce a mortgage relief program for Sudbury residents who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Mortgage Assistance Program is funded with federal ARPA funds to help residents retain their homes. If eligible, the program will provide mortgage assistance in the form of a grant to be paid directly to lenders.
Funding will be provided to owners who meet the eligibility criteria and meet the application process, including ALL ATTACHMENTS. Funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted.
- Apps are accepted on a rolling basis and eligibility is determined.
- If approved, the owner provides the W9 from the lender, and the owner and trust sign the participation agreement.
- The City issues payments payable to the lender, transmitted by the owner to the lender. The owner is responsible for the remaining amounts for taxes and the insurance portion of the payment.
Up to $3,000 of assistance, in monthly installments payable to the holder of the first mortgage, for outstanding principal arrears (since April 2020) or future installments. Other housing costs (eg condo fees, locked-in insurance or taxes, home equity line of credit or second mortgages, etc.) are not covered expenses.
